ASSISTANCE ANIMALS Protecting your working animal from discrimination

Service dogs (dogs individually trained to perform a task to benefit a person with a disability) are entitled to go anywhere their handlers go, with very limited exceptions. Other kinds of assistance animals (such as emotional support animals and comfort animals) have legal protections in the workplace and in housing. We are recognized leaders in this area of law, having defended the rights of service and assistance animal users in public, in hospitals, on the job, and at home. We have won court orders, injunctions and settlements guaranteeing access for service and assistance animals and instituting new, lawful service animal policies for well-known institutions.
